The Local Plan

The Local plan phase one was consulted upon last year in Newquay. The original housing target was going to be for 47,500 houses to be built in the Duchy by 2030. Simon Emerson, a Government appointed inspector, led the consultation in Newquay last year and he then reported back to Cornwall Council as to whether the Local Plan was 'sound' or not. As per his findings it seems the Local Plan wasn't sound and one of the points that he made was, because of the percentage of second homes in the Duchy, he wanted to see an extra 7% added on to 47,500. The plan was then reverted back to Westminster before being consulted on again this year. Mr Emerson is imminently due back in the Duchy to resume the Local Plan consultation. The housing target is no longer 47,500 unaffordable homes it is now 52,500. We must, one and all, lodge our objection and say NO to the urbanisation of Kernow.  Please click the button below to download the Changes to the Local Plan form. It should take no more than 5 mins. You have until March 7th to lodge your objection.

How many of these elected Council members have been active in continuing the destruction of Cornwall by approving and calling for continued over-development?
Why not write to your councillor and ask them where they stand on this agenda and what they have done and are doing about it?
